There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cardinals started one anyway for Brevyn Spann-Ford, 84 picks ahead of schedule.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

It is not that Jackson is a bad player; it is that the Cardinals had louder needs to answer first. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
