The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
They took Adisa Isaac at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Xavier Worthy at the 53rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
T.J. Tampa at pick 58 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They did well to land Cedric Gray in the 120th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
By-the-book stuff, Johnny Wilson at slot 121 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nehemiah Pritchett in pick No. 136 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Kitan Oladapo at Round 5, Pick 25 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kamal Hadden in the 171st pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Rasheen Ali in No. 210 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
