Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Payton Wilson got past him. The Raiders do not have to explain a thing at No. 90. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Limmer lower, and that gap is the story. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
T'Vondre Sweat at pick No. 51 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Payton Wilson all the way to slot 90, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
Braelon Allen in No. 104 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
A conviction pick on Beaux Limmer at Round 4, Pick 12 that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A slide stopped in the 148th pick, with Roger Rosengarten worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Fair-plus on Joe Milton III, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
