Start where it matters. The Raiders took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
On value alone, Harrison Jr. makes the weekend a net positive. If Hopper pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a franchise quarterback at a price that makes it sweeter.
Marvin Harrison Jr. in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Roger Rosengarten went about where he belonged in slot 128. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ty'Ron Hopper well ahead of where he belonged. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A straight-up fair deal on Trevin Wallace at pick No. 229, value and slot in agreement. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
