Whoever sat across the table from the Raiders should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
Landing James that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Somehow Payton Wilson was still sitting there in pick 65, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaylen Wright at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
DJ James at slot 113 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Fair-plus on Jacob Cowing, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Value with a capital V on Joe Milton III in pick No. 210, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
