Nobody else had Jimmy Horn Jr. anywhere near pick No. 166. The Eagles did, by 124 spots, and that gap is the whole story. No fireworks, but a solid B.
That Judkins pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 21 they get a disruptor off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jalon Walker in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The board fumbled Malaki Starks all the way to No. 95, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Trey Zuhn III. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Quinshon Judkins in slot 164 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached into another round for Jimmy Horn Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
