Thirty-one other rooms let Kamal Hadden slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at pick No. 210. Highway robbery. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The back end got a real overhaul.

So much rides on Kool-Aid McKinstry that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.26 · Pick 26 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 28
In pick No. 26 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · Kamari Lassiter · CB · rank 40
They read the board right and Kamari Lassiter was the payoff at slot 51. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R2.21 · Pick 53 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 58
No drama and no debate, Javon Bullard went about where he belonged in the 53rd pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 64
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the 57th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R3.35 · Pick 98 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 99
Christian Mahogany in pick 98 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.19 · Pick 119 · Theo Johnson · TE · rank 124
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Theo Johnson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.25 · Pick 161 · Nehemiah Pritchett · CB · rank 143
The board fumbled Nehemiah Pritchett all the way to Round 5, Pick 25, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 160
The board had Tykee Smith higher than No. 171, and the safety fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.12 · Pick 187 · Jordan Jefferson · DT · rank 184
A tidy little value on Jordan Jefferson in pick 187, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.35 · Pick 210 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 169
Steal is underselling it; Kamal Hadden at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
