The rest of the league will want that one back. Devin Neal tumbling to the Raiders in the 143rd overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Yurosek reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Will Campbell at No. 6 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Malaki Starks in the 37th overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jack Bech at the 68th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Vernon Broughton in the Round 4 slot, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Devin Neal at Round 5, Pick 5 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Chase Lundt in pick 180 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They reached a country mile for Ben Yurosek at slot 213, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Jason Marshall Jr. at pick No. 215 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jack Kiser at pick 222 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
