Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders let Proctor fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Raiders came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Getting Proctor where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Quay Walker deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 28
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 34
Chop Robinson at slot 44 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 80
Mike Sainristil in No. 77 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.13 · Pick 113 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 96
Tykee Smith in pick 113 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R5.11 · Pick 147 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 128
Tommy Eichenberg in pick No. 147 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R6.15 · Pick 190 · Javon Baker · WR · rank 186
Good price on Javon Baker in the 190th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.1 · Pick 221 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 196
Steal is underselling it; Josh Proctor at No. 221 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R7.11 · Pick 231 · Brevyn Spann-Ford · TE · rank 239
They liked Brevyn Spann-Ford enough to skip the value, taking him in the 231st pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
