There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Eagles started one anyway for Hayden Hatten, 117 picks ahead of schedule.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kamari Lassiter slid further than he should have, and No. 50 is lovely value for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Payton Wilson in the 53rd overall pick, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
