The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Xavier Restrepo fell into No. 222.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The back end got a real overhaul.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Fair-plus on Travis Hunter, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Somehow Wyatt Milum was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 5, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They will replay Walter Nolen at No. 68 for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Jahdae Barron here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cam Ward in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They barely believed it either: Jihaad Campbell still on the board at the 142nd overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A edge rusher of that caliber at the 178th pick is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cam Skattebo in pick 212 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dylan Fairchild at No. 216 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Xavier Restrepo in slot 222 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
