The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and T.J. Sanders fell into No. 216.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They robbed the room for Wyatt Milum here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Cam Ward in Round 3, Pick 4, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Walter Nolen in pick 73 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at No. 106 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Josaiah Stewart at slot 142 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cam Skattebo in pick No. 178 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled Dylan Fairchild all the way to the 212th pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay T.J. Sanders at pick 216 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Circle this one: Xavier Restrepo at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
