Good, not great, for the Raiders: B-.

The Raiders did not so much draft Sai'vion Jones as overpay for him, 110 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Landing Skattebo that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a bell-cow for the offense. A clean fit for the roster.
Taking Nick Emmanwori in the 37th pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jaxson Dart in slot 68 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jayden Higgins in pick No. 73 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Sai'vion Jones at pick 106 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jaeden Roberts at the 142nd overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A straight-up fair deal on Nazir Stackhouse at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at slot 212 is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A conviction pick on Roc Taylor at the 216th pick that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Thor Griffith at pick 222 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
