You build a draft on nights like this. Jalen Green had no business being available in the Round 7 slot, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The back end got a real overhaul.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They read the board right and T.J. Tampa was the payoff at slot 50. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Xavier Worthy graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board fumbled Christian Mahogany all the way to the 97th pick, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Edefuan Ulofoshio at Round 5, Pick 24 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
Nothing to complain about; Dadrion Taylor-Demerson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaylen Wright in pick No. 171. It fills a real need, too.
Brennan Jackson at No. 178 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay Jalen Green at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
