The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched Curtis Jacobs slide 64 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a lockdown presence outside, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
In No. 23 they get a double-digit-sack hope, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In pick No. 25 they get juice off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Blake Corum in Round 4, Pick 12 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Cade Stover here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not a spot anyone had flagged, which makes it a head-scratcher.
Khyree Jackson in slot 163 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a safety like Beau Brade reach pick 172 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Kitan Oladapo at the Round 6 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled Curtis Jacobs all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
