The trade table was where it all came apart. The Eagles shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It grades a D, and the process earned it.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Landing Hadden that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a No. 1 receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the 20th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick No. 21 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They barely believed it either: Junior Colson still on the board at No. 97. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A tidy little value on Daijun Edwards in pick 137, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Cedric Gray in the 163rd pick, plain and simple. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Kamal Hadden in slot 178 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jaden Crumedy at the 243rd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was not a hole anyone had circled.
