The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Cam Skattebo, the No. 109 name on the board, in No. 212. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They are betting Rourke proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had Ashton Jeanty higher than pick 10, and the running back fell to them anyway. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They talked themselves into Kurtis Rourke at slot 68, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Somehow Andrew Mukuba was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 5, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Smael Mondon Jr. in the 142nd pick, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They barely believed it either: Jay Higgins still on the board at pick No. 178. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at the 212th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jeffrey Bassa in No. 216 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A reach on Kaden Prather in pick No. 222; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
