The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The Rosemy-Jacksaint steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 5th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No drama and no debate, Michael Hall Jr. went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 14. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They jumped the gun on Cedric Gray, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Trevor Keegan. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They barely believed it either: Nehemiah Pritchett still on the board at pick 167. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Kamal Hadden in the Round 6 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in slot 232, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
