The Raiders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Mason McCormick at Round 4, Pick 12 regardless, 34 picks early.
The Rosemy-Jacksaint pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They let J.J. McCarthy come to them and pounced at Round 2, Pick 12. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Khyree Jackson in No. 77 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Mason McCormick in pick 112 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid up for Dylan Laube at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach on Gabe Hall in the 208th pick; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the 223rd overall pick, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They barely believed it either: Jaylan Ford still on the board at slot 229. A minor need, but a need all the same.
