The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Quinyon Mitchell, the Round 3 slot, roughly 46 picks past where he belonged.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Hall has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
They read the board right and Marvin Harrison Jr. was the payoff at pick No. 13. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on J.J. McCarthy in pick 44; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steal is underselling it; Quinyon Mitchell at the 77th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Ray Davis in the 112th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Ty'Ron Hopper in Round 5, Pick 14 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Gabe Hall at the Round 6 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Christian Jones at No. 234 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
