They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Decamerion Richardson, 99 picks early at No. 213.
The Worthy value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jackson Powers-Johnson reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took Braden Fiske at par in No. 53, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Somehow Xavier Worthy was still sitting there in pick No. 97, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jarrian Jones in pick 170, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy bit of business in slot 171, where Jordan Travis graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Daequan Hardy at No. 173 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tip Reiman in the 178th overall pick, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
The board had cheaper options than Curtis Jacobs at pick No. 189, and it noticed. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They reached a country mile for Decamerion Richardson at slot 213, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A real head-scratcher, Jaden Shirden in pick 240 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
