The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched TreVeyon Henderson slide 102 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
If Wilson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 31 they get juice off the edge, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach Round 2, Pick 32 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Alfred Collins at the 95th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Andrew Mukuba all the way to pick 128, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A running back of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Jared Wilson at pick No. 164 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Chris Paul Jr. in slot 166 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
