Las Vegas Raiders

Good, not great, for the Raiders: B+.

Every other box got a look, but wide receiver did not. The Raiders will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

The Edwards steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Nathan Shepherd pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.14 · Pick 14 · Taliese Fuaga · OT · rank 17
In No. 14 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Ennis Rakestraw Jr. · CB · rank 37
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at the 44th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 78
Christian Mahogany in pick No. 77 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.36 · Pick 136 · Jordan Travis · QB · rank 137
No drama and no debate, Jordan Travis went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.11 · Pick 147 · Daijun Edwards · RB · rank 132
Daijun Edwards at the 147th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Grayson Murphy · DL-EDGE · rank 174
They took Grayson Murphy at par in pick 169, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
