Boards are made to be trusted, and the Raiders shredded theirs for Austin Reed. He came off 66 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
The Rosemy-Jacksaint steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kool-Aid McKinstry at slot 44 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Jeremiah Trotter Jr. graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
Brenden Rice slid further than he should have, and the 112th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Isaac Guerendo in pick No. 148 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
They talked themselves into Austin Reed at No. 208, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Keaton Bills in the 223rd overall pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in slot 229 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay JD Bertrand at Round 7, Pick 31 for years; that is how good the value is. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
