They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Landing Tracy Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
They read the board right and Kamari Lassiter was the payoff at pick No. 50. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A slide stopped in the 53rd pick, with Jordan Morgan worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in the 124th overall pick, where Cedric Gray graded well above the range. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They went early on Trevor Keegan in No. 131, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board fumbled Tyrone Tracy Jr. all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Cody Schrader in slot 223 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Trente Jones at pick 229 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
