Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Cardinals, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Coleman pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
With quarterback and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
They reached a country mile for Keon Coleman at pick 17, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get a premier pass rusher. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Nate Wiggins at slot 35, value and slot in agreement. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They talked themselves into Blake Corum at pick No. 51, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A curious use of No. 67. Quarterback and tight end needed the pick; a cornerback in Cooper DeJean did not.
They did well to land Leonard Taylor III in the 73rd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They paid sticker price for Marist Liufau in the 81st pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Adisa Isaac in the Round 4 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Sataoa Laumea in pick 133 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
