The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Raiders watched Kamal Hadden slide 40 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will need Travis to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They jumped the gun on Junior Colson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Renardo Green in the 77th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Taking Javon Baker in pick 112 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Jordan Travis at slot 148, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Kamal Hadden at Round 6, Pick 33 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fabien Lovett at No. 223 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No drama and no debate, Nathan Thomas went about where he belonged in pick No. 229. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
