The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Riley Leonard fell into Round 5, Pick 30. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Omarion Hampton at No. 64 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Isaiah Bond in the 96th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid sticker price for Darius Alexander in slot 129, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Jeffrey Bassa still on the board at pick No. 162. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
