The search is over. The Vikings handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The McClellan value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Job largely done: quarterback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jonah Elliss in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jarrian Jones in No. 129 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Dylan Laube at Round 5, Pick 12 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No drama and no debate, Justin Rogers went about where he belonged in pick No. 160. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Austin Booker slid further than he should have, and slot 168 is lovely value for the edge rusher. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Andru Phillips at the 179th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
A quiet steal in the 230th pick: Jase McClellan for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
