Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders let Burke fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Denzel Burke had no business being available in the 222nd pick, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. TeSlaa has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.14 · Pick 14 · Will Campbell · OT · rank 9
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 39
A straight-up fair deal on Jihaad Campbell at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R2.13 · Pick 45 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 25
Emeka Egbuka at pick 45 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 55
The board had TreVeyon Henderson higher than slot 68, and the running back fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.16 · Pick 80 · Quinshon Judkins · RB · rank 65
Quinshon Judkins in the 80th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.6 · Pick 108 · Jalen Milroe · QB · rank 94
They read the board right and Jalen Milroe was the payoff at No. 108. The roster fit checks out.
R4.15 · Pick 117 · Billy Bowman Jr. · S · rank 111
A reasonable price with a little left over, Billy Bowman Jr. in the 117th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R5.5 · Pick 143 · Kevin Winston Jr. · S · rank 99
Circle this one: Kevin Winston Jr. at pick No. 143 is a fall that decides a draft. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R6.4 · Pick 180 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 155
You do not let a running back like Bhayshul Tuten reach pick 180 and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
R6.37 · Pick 213 · Jaylin Lane · WR · rank 223
They jumped the gun on Jaylin Lane, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.39 · Pick 215 · Isaac TeSlaa · WR · rank 236
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Isaac TeSlaa. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.6 · Pick 222 · Denzel Burke · CB · rank 114
They barely believed it either: Denzel Burke still on the board at the Round 7 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
