The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Raiders watched Cam Skattebo slide 102 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Uiagalelei reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board fumbled Shavon Revel Jr. all the way to pick No. 39, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Xavier Watts at the 69th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Kaleb Johnson at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A quiet steal in No. 106: Elic Ayomanor for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Danny Stutsman at pick 146 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Circle this one: Sonny Styles at Round 6, Pick 8 is a fall that decides a draft. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A straight-up fair deal on DJ Campbell at slot 212, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A running back of that caliber at slot 216 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
They reached into another round for DJ Uiagalelei, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
