The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Bralen Trice fell into the 50th pick.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Steal is underselling it; Bralen Trice at pick 50 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 59, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Jalen McMillan slipping to the 97th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cam Hart at No. 137 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Jaylen Wright at par in slot 156, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
They did well to land Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the 172nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Aki Ogunbiyi in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Dylan McMahon in Round 7, Pick 8 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had Eric Gentry higher than pick No. 248, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
