The Raiders treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 251st overall pick on Jordan Johnson a full 43 spots early.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. On value alone, Fisher makes the weekend a net positive. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Corum. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Blake Fisher at the 112th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Austin Booker in Round 5, Pick 11 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Sincere Haynesworth in pick No. 150 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No edge and no loss on Michael Barrett in pick 190; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
Taulia Tagovailoa at the 234th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; Jordan Johnson in slot 251 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
