Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C- in the wash.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. With interior defensive lineman, offensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.
So much rides on Terrion Arnold that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Adisa Isaac in pick No. 50, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Payton Wilson in Round 2, Pick 21 is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at linebacker with interior defensive lineman, offensive lineman and other spots open.
No edge and no loss on Brenden Rice in slot 98; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Tykee Smith at the 161st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good price on Kamal Hadden in No. 172, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
