Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Roman Wilson got past him. The Eagles do not have to explain a thing at the Round 3 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.

Nothing to complain about; Tyler Nubin went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Bralen Trice in the 50th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value with a capital V on Tyler Guyton in slot 54, a genuine coup. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Fair-plus on Payton Wilson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Somehow Roman Wilson was still sitting there in No. 97, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at the 104th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in pick 160. It fills a real need, too.
A straight-up fair deal on LaDarius Henderson at pick No. 170, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Joe Milton III at the Round 6 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A quiet steal in pick No. 240: Jase McClellan for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
