Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jaydon Blue at pick 213 is 103 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Getting Gabriel where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a featured back at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Jihaad Campbell in the 37th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jayden Higgins in slot 68 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Andrew Mukuba at the 108th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
The board fumbled Cam Skattebo all the way to No. 143, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at Round 6, Pick 4 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jaydon Blue at Round 6, Pick 37 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
They barely believed it either: Dillon Gabriel still on the board at pick 215. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Circle this one: Jaylen Reed at pick No. 222 is a fall that decides a draft. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
