Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Texans spent pick 164 on Xavier Thomas, a name most had 91 spots down the list.
The Legette value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

In pick No. 23 they get a press-man option on the boundary. More want than need.
Taking Xavier Legette in the Round 2 slot is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
