Somebody took the Raiders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They are betting Hart proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Suamataia. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with edge rusher still staring back at them.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th overall pick they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Devontez Walker in pick 44 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
T'Vondre Sweat is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Kingsley Suamataia all the way to pick No. 77, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Christian Haynes in Round 3, Pick 22 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A conviction pick on Cam Hart at the 112th pick that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
By-the-book stuff, Ainias Smith at No. 150 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for Miyan Williams in slot 190, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Blake Watson at the 234th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
