The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Marcus Harris, the 208th overall pick, roughly 55 picks past where he belonged.
Reed has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A premium they did not need to pay, Kingsley Suamataia a notch or two before his time. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
DJ James in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
You do not let a safety like Dadrion Taylor-Demerson reach slot 112 and blink. They did not. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The board fumbled Chau Smith-Wade all the way to the 148th pick, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They robbed the room for Marcus Harris here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Austin Reed at No. 223 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They did well to land Trey Knox in pick No. 229, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
