Tory Horton, hailing from Washington Union High School in Fresno, California, was a three-sport athlete excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. He led his high school team to a league championship and earned league MVP honors. Horton’s family has a strong athletic background, with his sister playing professional volleyball and his brother being a two-time All-Mountain West cornerback.
Horton began his college football career at Nevada, where he recorded 72 receptions for 995 yards and 10 touchdowns over two seasons. He transferred to Colorado State in 2022, following head coach Jay Norvell. In his junior season at Colorado State, Horton had 71 receptions for 1,131 yards and eight touchdowns, earning First Team All-Mountain West honors. His senior year saw him further improve with 96 receptions for 1,136 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the team in receptions and receiving yards.
Throughout his college career, Horton earned several accolades including being named Team Captain in 2023 and making the All-Mountain West First Team twice. He was also listed on the Fred Biletnikoff Award, Paul Hornung Award, and Maxwell Award watch lists in 2023.
