Scouting Report: Strengths
- A solid fit for a power-blocking team looking to load up the offensive line with physical tone-setters.
- Wide-body who stands his ground and is especially effectively sliding to mirror and hold off outside pressure.
- Outstanding in the screen game, both because of his instincts to deceive defenders and mobility to get out in front and land blocks.
- Shows a good feel for combo blocks, and Telfort displays good quickness and flexibility when moving to the second level, capable of sealing the back side on reach blocks
- Has a strong, flexible core, and the ability to absorb and anchor against the bull rush as a pass protector.
- His feet are decent in pass protection, especially considering his size and long arms, which allow him to swallow up pass rushers.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Whiffs on blocks after beaten initially and lacks range and lateral quickness. Plays too high and without proper leverage, pad level and can be passive.
- Telfort seems too focused on winning with his hands, too often stopping his feet. Telfort also plays with poor balance in the run game, lunging into contact rather than sinking his hips and delivering a block.
- Had issues against quality counter moves, struggling to readjust. That’s something he’ll see frequently against NFL technicians in the pass rush.
