Draft Profile: Bio
Lovasea Carroll from IMG Academy High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Carroll has the flexible ankles to turn the corner and get around the perimeter when the opportunity presents itself.
  • He combines good speed with his size, and Carroll accelerates off the line better than most big receivers.
  • He does a nice job with recognition as a pass protector and gives good effort.
  • His initial burst is excellent, and he’s capable of running out of a traditional setup or taking the ball lined up next to a quarterback in shotgun.
  • His passing game skills are strong. He’s a natural hands catcher who turns upfield quickly in the screen game, and he shows a great feel for setting up wheel routes.
  • He’s aggressive and willing, with more than enough size, when asked to chip block or pick up blitzers. Carroll has the potential to be one of the league’s best in that area.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Carroll doesn’t always show great hands, and Carroll takes too long to gather himself after making catches in the screen game.
  • Does not always read blocks behind pulling guards. May not be big enough to move piles at the next level and has a tendency to bury his head too soon.
  • Carroll could stand to get smaller when squeezing through traffic.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
