Which Teams are set to win the 2024 NFL Draft?

Every NFL team now knows what to expect from this year’s draft. The event will take place in Detroit Michigan from April 25 to 27. The Chicago Bears will select the No. 1 pick while the Washington Commanders will pick the second draft nominee.

The NFL has a simple procedure for awarding draft picks. The team with the worst record in the season gets the number-one nominee. Super Bowl Champions selects the last pick.

Sometimes NFL franchises trade their future draft picks in exchange for current NFL players. Teams do this to strengthen their present squads, especially if they’re chasing championships.

Without further ado, below are the top 10 teams expected to benefit the most in the upcoming draft.

#1: Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears have a huge decision to make in the upcoming draft. They can pick a new quarterback. Or they could build around Justin Fields by selecting a new wide receiver, tight end, or an offensive interior player.

Last year, Chicago traded several assets with the Panthers in exchange for Carolina's first-round pick this year. That means Chicago will have two first-round picks this year, the first time it has had this privilege since 2003.

#2: Washington Commanders

Similar to Chicago, Washington's picks in April will depend on their trust in QB Sam Howell. If they trust him, they will prioritize the interior offensive line, an Edge Rusher, and an offensive tackle.

If the Commanders no longer have faith in Howell, they will have two options. They can bench him for Jacoby Brissett or they can draft a new QB. Jacoby was supposed to replace Howell in the team’s final game, but he suffered an injury.

New owner Josh Harris is determined to transform the Commanders in 2024. And this could mean making many important decisions in April.

#3: New England Patriots

Jerod Mayo's decision in this year's NFL draft will be important. The Patriots need a new QB. And he's taking over from Bill Belichick, one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time.

Many US sportsbooks, more so the best betting sites, used to treat New England as the favorite team in nearly every NFL game Belichick coached. Bill won six Super Bowls during his time in New England. But it does help that his team included Tom Brady, arguably the best NFL player of all time.

No one expects Mayo to lead New England to glory in the first season. But fans of the team expect him to get draft picks right. Will he pick the right players and lead the Patriots to more years of NFL success? Time will tell.

#4: Arizona Cardinals

Arizona has 10 draft picks awaiting them in 2024. That means the team can easily rebuild its roster from scratch. That said, Kyler Murray has been performing well ever since he recovered from a knee injury. So, there’s no rush to draft a new QB.

The Cardinals are more inclined to pick a Wide Receiver, IOL, and a Defensive Tackle. Antonio Hamilton, the team's main CB will be a free agent this year. This might require Arizona to invest in a new corner this April.

#5: Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are under pressure to restructure their roster this upcoming offseason, failure to which they will exceed the NFL’s salary cap by $34 million. One way they can do this is to pick the best players available to them.

The Chargers have no problems with their QB. But he will need a little help in the cornerback; running back, defensive tackle, and offensive tackle positions.

#6: New York Giants

The Giants are desperate for a new quarterback and GM Joe Schoen believes the draft will be a good time to fill this position. If New York can’t find a good QB in April, Joe says he will find one in the offseason.

Besides a quarterback, NY needs a new defensive tackle, a running back, an IOL, and an offensive tackle.

#7: Tennessee Titans

Tennessee needs game-changing players urgently. Despite that, the Titans never seem to pick many great players from the draft. The team has only three starters who joined the franchise as draft picks.

Tennessee is confident in Will Levis remaining their main QB for the next several seasons. But Levis needs support. Running back Derrick Henry might leave the team this offseason, so that's one position the team will seek to fill. It will also seek a new corner, OT, wide receiver, and Edge.

#8: Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are yet another team seeking to find a new QB this upcoming draft season. Unfortunately, Atlanta isn’t positioned to select the best picks with seven teams ranking ahead of them.

Rumors say the Falcons will find a wide receiver, corner, defensive tackle, or linebacker. Then they could trade their picks for a solid QB in the offseason.

#9: New York Jets

Management at the New York Jets has always favored a win-now mentality. But that requires top talent. New York’s top man, Aaron Rodgers, is a legendary QB. But he’s 40 years old.

New York will soon require a new QB. But will Rodgers be fully fit by the time the new season starts, it will be interesting to watch the Jets in April. Will they select a QB? Will they prioritize other positions?

New York needs a new wide receiver, an offensive and defensive tackle, and a strong safety. It will also need to select several premium players in the offseason. Otherwise, it might underperform if it doesn't change some of its unproven talent.

#10. Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins's contract with Minnesota will end this March, meaning the Vikings might pick a QB in the April draft. If they can't find a good replacement for Cousins, they will prioritize their running back, defensive tackle, and corner back needs in the draft.

Minnesota can negotiate a new contract with Cousins. But it doesn’t appear interested in renewing its contract with Joshua Dobbs, the team’s backup QB. That means finding a new QB will be a priority for the team either in April or during the offseason.
