Shedeur Sanders Cleveland Browns Rumours Gain Traction

Reports that the Cleveland Browns are set to make Shedeur Sanders the No.2 overall pick at the 2025 NFL Draft are picking up speed.

Kevin Stefanski his work cut out this season, with the Browns regarded as rank outsiders for the Superbowl Crown.

At present, the team is priced at around 150/1 for the Super Bowl and 100/1 for the AFC. However, these odds could change if he can add some depth to his roster, and Sanders could be a part of that. It could take a lot for the Browns to be competitive by the time the season kicks off in September. However, all eyes will be on the draft which is set to take place between the 24th of April and the 26th at the Green Bay Lambeau Field.

The Browns' need for a quarterback looks like it will play a major part in their draft pick, and while Sanders isn't seen as an elite prospect, he has the potential to provide the solid play that the Browns require. Stefanski has a background in getting the best from pocket-passing QBs, and this could bump Sanders up the list.

However, the Cleveland Browns aren't the only team in the market for a new quarterback. Third in the draft are the New York Giants, and ESPN football analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has been vocal about the Giants snapping up Sanders if he is not selected by Cleveland.

Circumstances appear to have converged to help Sanders’ options this season, and he could end up with a move that not only suits his style but gives him the game time to develop.

Shedeur Sanders' Story

Shedeur Sanders was born in 2002 on February 7th in Tyler, Texas. His high-school career at Trinity Christian School was helped by the fact that his father was the offensive coordinator, and he quickly developed to be rated as a four-star prospect.

Sander's college ball career almost saw him go to Florida Atlantic, and he had agreed on a move before switching to Jackson State where his father was named as the head coach. He was named as the Fall 2021 season starting QB and scooped the Freshman of the Year award for the SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference). He was also awarded the Jerry Rice Award the same year.

His sophomore season continued in the same way and he achieved a 70.6% pass completion rate and won the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and Deacon Jones Trophy.

Sanders followed his father to Colorado in 2023 and was named starting QB, going on to finish the season with 37 touchdowns and 4,134 passing yards. This performance earned him the Jonny Unitas Golden Arm Award and he was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.

The talented 23-year-old has already signed sponsorship deals with Nike, Gatorade, and Beats by Dre, as well as pursuing a music career by releasing his debut track 'Perfect Timing' in 2024.

It seems like perfect timing follows Sanders and his ability to perform for the teams his father coaches and enter into a draft at a good time for a player of his abilities cements this.

There is still time for other teams to show an interest, but it appears that Shedeur Sanders is set to be among the top picks at the 2025 NFL draft.
