The Rise of Young Talent in NFL -The Best Athletes Under 25
A very important part of understanding the possibility of which NFL team is going to win or gain potential success is looking at young talented athletes.
In today’s NFL Guide, we are going to highlight two most prominent teams with young talent under 25 to have a clearer image of who is set up for more success in the future.
1. Houston Texans
Of course, we cannot not mention the Texans as the leading team with two absolutely stunning players. One of them is certainly C.J. Stroud, the Texan’s quarterback, who is by far the most valuable asset for the team. He got 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns along with the second-highest passing DYAR as a rookie (Dak Prescott was the first in 2016), which makes him an indispensable figure for the Houston Texans. The next unparalleled athlete is Will Anderson Jr., ranking third with a 2.5% pass rush win rate along with seven sacks, let alone a Defensive Rookie of the Year and the Offensive Rookie of the Year awards.
Apart from these two fascinating players, there is one more who is adding significant value to the team. Derek Stingley Jr., a 23-year-old cornerback, ranked 14th in DVOA coverage last season, snagging five interceptions.
The Texans generally have a pool of irreplaceable young talents such as Kamari Lassiter, Kenyon Green, Juice Scruggs, Tank Dell and others.
2. Detroit Lions
The Lions have displayed unthinkable performance over the past few drafts. Detroit has some young heroes such as Penei Sewell, who is just 23 and was a first-team All-Pro last season, as well as Sam LaPorta, who made 86 tight ends, setting an NFL record for rookie catches. Besides, there are a bit younger players like Jahmyr Gibbs and Terrion Arnold, where the latter is expected to be an NFL starter at the age of 21.
Detroit Lions can also take pride in having Amon-Ra St. Brown, the 24-year-old league’s top wide receiver. The Lions could not let him go after his catching 119 receptions for 1,515 yards.
Jack Campbell (linebacker) and Josh Paschal (edge rusher) are other staples for the Lions while a former first-round pick Jameson Williams is promised to move the Lions forward, opening up his full potential this season.
As we have covered two leading NFL teams, we cannot not highlight the third one on our list:
3. Baltimore Ravens
Blue-chip players: S Kyle Hamilton, WR Zay Flowers, C Tyler Linderbaum
Notable graduated players: LB Patrick Queen (left in free agency)
Ranking first in success rate and fifth in DVIOA coverage at the age of only 23, Kyle Hamilton is the primary source of the Ravens’ success among young players, acting as the most powerful defense mechanism in the NFL. Tyler Linderbaum is another 24-year-old asset in Baltimore’s basket as the last season brought him his first Pro Bowl after his second performance in the NFL season. Among other emerging leaders are Zay Flowers (858 receiving yards, 23 y.o.) and Rashod Bateman (367 yards, 24 y.o.).
Having such an array of young talents, the Ravens are able to skyrocket their success by allowing these players in their early/mid-twenties shine in the major roles.
