The Leading Prospects Set to Enter the 2025 NFL Draft According to Sportsbooks

The 2024 NFL season is not yet underway but general managers across the league will already be looking at how future draft classes can improve their rosters.

It can take several years for a team to be transformed from one of the NFL's weaker outfits to a genuine championship contender. One of the most efficient ways to make strides forward is to utilize draft selections and next year there are set to be several top prospects on offer to those with the top picks.

The NFL draft order will be decided by the records of each team in the upcoming season and some teams may well be tempted to finish lower down the pecking order to secure one of the best picks.

Here we will look at the players that could be the most in-demand in the 2025 draft as well as which teams they could be a strong fit at. Some franchises may already be wishing that the stars will align so that their deficiencies can be addressed via the next draft class.

Carson Beck

Carson Beck is undoubtedly going to be one of the most sought-after players in next year's draft. He has been influential in two national championship wins at the college level, which is a strong indication he could be the next elite quarterback prospect introduced to the league.

Beck is widely expected to be the number one pick according to the betting odds offered across several sportsbooks. The DraftKings Sportsbook app, for example, offers him at +500 to be the opening selection of the 2025 draft, and that is no surprise considering his remarkable 3,941 passing yards and 167.9 rating in the 2023 season.

The Tennessee Titans are one of the teams that will be likely to secure one of the leading picks, as they are offered at -150 to win less than 6.5 games this year and have a first-round selection for 2025 at their disposal. They desperately need some individual inspiration to lead the franchise in a positive direction, and Beck could become the face of their team if they were to receive the number one pick.

The Las Vegas Raiders and the New York Giants are other examples of teams expected to finish with the worst records in the 2024 regular season that are in dire need of a potential future star at quarterback.

If the number one pick were to land at the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, or Carolina Panthers, then those franchises could trade their picks as they have already committed to long-term options at quarterback.

Beck is ultimately likely to be the first pick out of next year's draft. He is set to be immensely valuable due to the talent he could provide to his potential new team, or the trade offers that a team with the number-one pick but no need for a quarterback could demand.

Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders is another star quarterback who is set to be available in the 2025 NFL draft. He is offered at +1100 to be the first pick, which means being selected before Beck is not out of the realms of possibility.

Sanders captured the Jerry Rice Award and the Deacon Jones Trophy in his early college days, which shows he has always been one of the most outstanding players at the collegiate level.

The teams that will be interested in him will likely be made up of a similar crop to the teams chasing Beck. His stats may not be quite as impressive as Beck's, having managed 3,230 passing yards on a rating of 151.7 in the most recent season, although he would still be a strong addition to a host of franchises.

The opening picks in the first round of the 2025 draft are thoroughly expected to be made up of top quarterback prospects. Beck and Sanders' successes and consistent high-quality passing at the college level are clear evidence that they could mount lengthy careers in the NFL as starting players.

Any of the teams mentioned here that need fresh ideas at quarterback will be overjoyed if they can select either of these options in the next edition of the draft. Beck will likely take prominence due to the spotlight that his 2023 season received, but Sanders will still be an excellent consolation prize that comes with more college experience under his belt.
