Hunter Wohler from Muskego High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Wohler opted to join Wisconsin after being heavily recruited.In 2021 as a freshman Wohler saw action in 6 games and played a total of 70 snaps at safety for the Badgers. He recorded just 7 tackles, 4 assists, while adding 5 stops. In coverage Wohler notched up no pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 100.7.
As a sophomore in 2022 he played in 5 games and logged 185 snaps for the Badgers. He made 17 tackles, 3 assists, and had 9 stops. In coverage he totaled no pass breakups, one interception, and an elite QB rating when targetted of 47.9.

- Good vision and anticipation for zone coverage. Good hand-eye coordination and leaping skills.
- Good instincts and anticipation reads and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.
- Has quick feet and excellent change-of-direction ability, capable of mirroring quickness underneath.
- Does a good job getting his head around in time when playing with his back to the line of scrimmage. Has the ability to cover quickness underneath.
- Has enough speed and fluidity to come down and guard slot receivers and even some tight ends in man coverage.
- Has the change-of-direction ability to mirror underneath but did solid work out of press and off coverage.
- Has the violent hands to discard receivers and smaller tight ends, and Wohler is a sure tackler. In coverage, he shows good instincts when sitting back in zone, with click-and-close ability and good ball tracking.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- While Wohler has man coverage skills, he can struggle when sitting back in zone. He’s not instinctive and struggles reading downfield routes and tracking the deep ball.
- Inconsistent getting off of blocks. Can be a step slow to react when a quarterback comes back to his side of the field late in progression.
- Needs to get stronger. Too easily lost in the trash. Not a sudden athlete and shows body stiffness when attempting to quickly redirect.
